If you've been reading my blog (by "you" I mean Mom and BF) you have probably picked up on the fact that I like to cook and LOVE to eat (Mom and BF don't actually have to read my blog to know that). But anyways, in my constant search for new food ideas I came across this article and wish I had seen it earlier in the summer. 101 Simple Salads. A little tresure I would like to share with all my wonderful followers (read: Mom and BF). I can't wait to make #2, #13 and #27! Which ones do you like?
peace, love, eating, and happiness!

Pool Party and Pizza
Remember those hot summer days when you were a kid and you would head to your friend's pool (or your own if you were lucky enough to have one) and spend the day splashing, laughing, and most likely having the grown-ups order pizza? Ahhh... I miss those days. And days at the pool have been few and far between living in an apartment in L.A. Luckily, this weekend a friend was house sitting for his Mom and at this blessed location was a cool, blue oasis in the backyard. Perfect for a little pool party! With temperatures rising to over 100 degrees and wild fires raging throughout the Los Angeles area we were definitely in need of a little liquid relaxation. And of course to go with this day of sun and fun... pizza!! But not the order-from-some-crappy-pizza-chain kind of pizza. We needed sophisticated pizza to go along with our grown up pool party. So we stopped by Trader Joe's picked up some already made wheat pizza dough and garlic and herb pizza dough, some fresh sauce, peppers, onions, fresh mozzarella, and Gorgonzola cheese. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Pizza became the perfect summer food with our new method of cooking it. Grilling! No hot ovens to heat up the already scorching house.

Just through the dough on the grill, grill one side for a few minutes, flip and add toppings! Oh man, it was good. We had sauteed peppers and onions with Gorgonzola on wheat crust and simple mozzarella on herb and garlic crust. Best pizza ever and my new favorite food!
