*Out of Sync

OMG! My roomie brought to my attention this morning through a barrage of texts that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have broken up

{Lovekin/Getty}

She LOVES Justin, like in-love-have-his-babies kinda love (just like about 20 million other girls).  I don't quite get it... he's a little too pasty for me and was a little stand off-ish when I asked him to take this pic with me...

To his credit, I'm sure getting asked to take pictures with complete strangers gets old after a while.  Anyways, what I am excited about is that this very sad break-up (tear) gives my roomie and I an even bigger reason to go to Las Vegas on the weekend of October 17th!  And any reason to go to Vegas is a good one!  On October 12th JT comes to Vegas for a good cause (and we go so my roomie can stalk him) - the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. I don't really know much about golf so if you are interested in what the tournament is all about click this link.  What I am interested in is the JT and Friends Concert that takes place at the Mandalay Bay Resort on October 17th.  The tickets are a little (read: a lot) pricey, but my roomie and I can always just hang out at the Mandalay Bay and see what happens! Let's hope her stalking doesn't get us into too much trouble! wink. wink.

peace, love, JT, and happiness!

Rocking the Ballroom

I have a love-hate relationship with Dancing with the Stars.  Sometimes I love it and it makes me cry (often while sitting at my desk watching it at work) and other times I hate it because it's time consuming and airs on mulitple days of the week (I have an issue with shows that require more than one day a week of dedication).  But due to being bombarded by facebook and twitter statuses from my friend demanding that everyone vote for Kelly Osbourne (His Twitter read: This is not optional. Whether by phone or text, you will vote for Kelly. Thanks.) I decided to give it a twirl again.  While flipping back and forth from The Office reruns (I couldn't help myself, that show is too funny) I turned back on DWTS just as Kelly was about to take the stage (phew, my friend can't get upset at me for missing it) and was instantly struck by how beautiful she looked in a long sleeved navy blue gown with a hot pink scarf.

In the intro leading up to Kelly and her partner, Louis van Amstel, taking the stage, Kelly described her dancing as "crap" and talked about how she hates to sweat.  She was also extremely appreciative of the oppurtunity to be on DWTS and commented "who would of thought that Kelly Osbourne could become a lady".  And what a lady, yes lady, this reality star rocker was. Her and Louis did the elegant and difficult Viennese Waltz, which Len called "the best Viennese Waltz of the night".  Kelly didn't only impress the judges, the crowd went wild and her Dad, Ozzy Osbourne, got up and gave her a kiss while Mom, Sharon, tried to conceal her tears of joy.  Kelly called the night "the most fun I've ever had in my life" as tears streamed down her face. It was a surprisingly touching moment to see the daughter of the prince of darkness perform a classy and beautiful dance with such ease and grace while her family proudly cheered her on.  Can't wait to see what Kelly does next and it looks like we will get to see her on tonight's show. Today Kelly tweeted "In hair and make up ready to do it all over again @louisvanamstel and I got picked for the encore dance tonight I'm so happy!"

Looking forward to it! I may even start to dedicated more than one night a week to a show!

peace, love, dancing, and happiness!

Emmys Twitter Madness

Yesterday was television's biggest night of the year - The Emmy Awards! And it seems the celebrities were just as excited as the fans! Many took to Twitter to share their experience at the Emmys.

Kim Kardashian posted this pic of her fashion emergency. Apparently her zipper broke on the way to the Emmys resulting in panicky tweets (FASHION EMERGENCY! My zipper on my gown just all popped & broke on my way 2 Emmy's! My stylist is meeting me there but I'm FREAKING OUT!!!) and an emergency sewing session.

I think she looks fabulous and I normally don't dig the one shoulder... but does "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" really count as Emmy attending worthy TV?  (just kidding - she was hosting for E!) Kim snapped many photos to share with her fans on Twitter.

And I even snapped a shot to share on my own Twitter account!

Alright, I admit I'm not the best at being the paparazzi... but I gave it a try!

Justin Guarini tweeted "Rolling into the next hour of #tvgemmys coverage, carpet starting to heat up in more ways than 1" including this pic:

Check out my pic of Justin and celebrity hair stylist Kim Vo in action:

Ryan Seacrest tweeted about his red carpet ready routine "Pre emmy red carpet run..30 more mins at 6.5 on tread hurts" with this pic:

How he finds time to hold his one million jobs, tweet, and work out will never cease to amaze me. I only have one job and can't run for more than 10 minutes at 5.2 on the treadmill. Sigh.

And he finds time to eat!!

"At nokia outside emmy's in e! Trailer. Salad then rolling out to carpet"

Alyson Hannigan ("this one time in band camp...") shared her red carpet accessories:

I admire her bravery... sharing a picture of your feet with the world can be awkward...

The Bachelor and TV Guide Network's Chris Harrison shared this pic with fellow co-host and Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba:

Check out my picture of the gracious duo thanking the TV Guide crew after the show:

The stunning Padma Lakshmi tweeted this:

"Kevin Nealon cheering us on!"

and shared this photo of Top Chef head judge Tom Colicchio:

I have to admit that when the cast of Top Chef walked by me, just a mere inches away, I couldn't contain myself from exclaiming with glee "It's the Top Chef cast! I love you guys!!"  Tom smiled at me. I've eaten at his restaurant and interviewed him... Maybe he remembered me... riiiigghhtt.

Well thats it for my red carpet Twitter round up!

Peace, love, Twitter, and happiness!

Living like a Celeb after the Emmys

As I sat at home watching back the red carpet coverage of the Emmys last night and had painful flashbacks to how freakin' hot it was out there and my lack of sunscreen, I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be a celebrity.  Not because of the red carpet stuff, that's fun and all, but the best part of the night is when food and alcohol get involved.  Which is where the Governor's Ball comes in to play (ha, get it play... like the name of my blog... ok not that funny).  Fact = The Emmys Governor's Ball is the largest formal sit down event in the United States.  Fun = photos of my sneak peek of this super hot event!  Most of us will never actually get to attend the Emmys Governor's Ball, so indulge in my photos that show the 3 course meal that was served to the celebs by the Patina Restaurant Group.  And I got to taste these little treasures... and let me tell you - delish!

Not only was the food to die for! But the whole affair was quite lovely... well, the sneak peek was, so I only can imagine the oasis that was set up for the Emmy winners and guests last night! The theme was based on Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem "Kubla Khan" and included magnificent colors and flower arrangements with feathers that reached towards the heavens.  Lovely!

TV's Big Night!

Tomorrow is the Emmys!! And it's gonna be hot, hot, hot on the red carpet! Literally, it's gonna be like 90 degrees. Today I got a little taste of the excitement that will be tomorrow!

I FINALLY got a dress

And it was such a steal that I also got a turquoise L.A. tank that I wore today!

Also, I ran into Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick in the parking structure. And by run into I mean walked right past Kyra and held my tongue because I wanted to gush to her about how much I love The Closer. They are such a lovely couple!  Can't wait to see what she wears to the Emmys tomorrow.

Looking forward to the excitement tomorrow... and hopefully I'll get to snap some photos to share with you!

The little black dress...

Everyone has one. Except me. And I am in need of one ASAP. With the Emmys quickly approaching (4 days!) and a limited amount of time to shop (with all the Emmy madness going on at work)... I'm finding myself in quite a pickle. I need to find a little black dress to wear to the Emmys! It needs to be simple and classy (I am working afterall) and pockets would be nice or a belt to attach my walkie. And the other catch... It needs to be in the low end of the price range. My work only comps seventy-five bucks. Which makes this task near impossible.

I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for but I got some ideas from ModCloth.

Maybe something flirty like this...

Or something classic like this...

Now I just need to find something in a store where I can try it on and go home with it that day.

Dancing in Heaven

RIP Patrick Swayze. You were great... especially in "Dirty Dancing" which I just recently watched with my roomie and it still makes me light up inside; just like when I was a little girl and my friend Lindsey and I would walk to the local grocery store (that had movie rentals) and rent it and watch it over and over (obviously not really understanding some of the themes) but loving every minute of it.

R.I.P.

Should I...

Came across this brillant designer, Clare Vivier, thanks to the Daily Candy where they are currently featuring a deal to get 25% off of her locally made, social conscious and super cute bags.

Should I get this one for my upcoming Disneyland adventure? Check out the 4th one in the above picture. The grey iphone pouch.

It would provide an easy and lightweight way to store all my essentials while frolicking around the happiest place on earth. And will come in handy for all other outings that involve all day walking and such. Carrying my large purse becomes just too tiresome for these types of things. Should I do it?

peace, love, purses and happiness!

My new love...

Ahhh... my new love... Vita bracelets...

These bracelets are super cute, super stylish and named after celebs who wear them... I want one named the "SweetShelle".  I already picked out the one that I want to carry my namesake. Here it is...

Your Daily Fix

I'm sure, like me, everyday you grudgingly drag yourself to work and try to summon the will to sit at your desk and not look too misreable while you daydream about all the things you are going to do once you get to leave "this hell hole" (as I lovingly call my place of employment)... or maybe you actually enjoy your job.  In which case I'm extremely envious.  But either way, I want to share with you my secret to starting the day off right!  Every morning I get my daily fix. No, not coffee, not bagels, and definitely not anything illegal.  Just a little smile from the most wonderful creatures alive with the morning newsletter of  The Daily Puppy! It's only the best way to start the day.  Sign up for the daily newsletter and torment yourself with pictures of puppies you can't have because your apartment doesn't let you have pets.  In less of course your apartment does let you have pets (in which case I'm extremely envious) then be on the look out for the adoptable puppies!

peace, love, puppies, and happiness!

Oh! And take a look at my little baby that takes up residence with my 'rents in AZ.

toooo cute!!

I'm bringing sparkle back...

Sexy, simple, and sparkly! Some of my favorite things! Remember when sparkle nails were cool? I was like 10 years old then. But I'm lobbying hard for sparkle nails to make a comeback! I think its the perfect simple fall / winter accessory. Forget black nails! It's been overdone. Let your inner star shine.  But remember to keep it light - no need to go from sexy to sleazy.  I recommend a simple silver or gold brushed on lightly to give plain nails a little glitz when you don't have time to get to the nail salon.  It takes all of 3 to 5 minutes.

peace, love, sparkles, and happiness!
